About Us - The Foundation for Democracy and Liberal Values

About Us

The Foundation for Democracy and Liberal Values is a U.S.-based 501(с)(3) non-profit that supports the creation of high-quality, primarily Russian-language content. Through our grant programs, we help authors, journalists, and independent media produce work that promotes knowledge and critical thinking, grounded in factual accuracy and editorial integrity.

Choosing Priorities

Strong and trusted institutions are essential for securing a better future. Even in exile, it is paramount to build and preserve them. FDLV is a grant-making organization committed to the principles of competitiveness and transparency. With a focus on supporting Russian-speaking content producers, we are at the forefront of creating transparent grant distribution mechanisms. Through our work — from supporting independent media to enabling the creation of non-fiction on critical political and social issues in Russia and popular science books — we aim to strengthen the space for high-quality Russian-language content and ensure its continued vitality.

We encourage individuals and organizations who care about Russia’s future to support our efforts in any way possible, from sharing information about the initiative to donating and advocating for institution-building.
